SPECIAL WALKING PROGRAMS: Boardwalks, Famous Canadians, Art in Public Places

DIRECTIONS: By car: From Hwy #1: take exit #29, Willingdon Ave south; Left on Central Blvd. Parking in various parking lots in Metrotown Mall. Take escalator/elevator up to concourse near Best Buy & walk out to Central Blvd.  By Transit: Metrotown SkyTrain Station, walk west along Central Blvd beyond the bus exchange.

INFORMATION: There are four routes:

1. Central Park 5K & 10K (rating 1B): Central Park is notable for its immense Douglas fir, Western hemlock, cedar, poplar and maple groves. We’ll enjoy a walk along the BC Parkway Urban Trail (beside the SkyTrain) and through Central Park before returning via residential streets. Washrooms available at Start/Finish & in the Park.
   
2. Central Park Plus Two Parks 10K (rating 2B): Walk through Central Park, Sparwood Park & Captain Cooks Park. Walk will pass Ocean View Burial Park with an option to walk in this park.
   
3. Deer Lake Park 10K (rating 3B): Walk will go to Oakland Park & Deer Lake Park. Walk on trails & boardwalks in the park & around the lake.
   
4. Everett Crowley Park 10K (rating 2B): This walk will take you on trails through Central Park all the way to Everett Crowley Park and Avalon Pond.  We will return from Champlain Heights via more trails and pathways through parks and some residential areas with lots of trees.
