START POINT: Edmonds Park near the corner of Humphries Ave & Rosewood St. Burnaby, BC V5E 4N4 . Meet at the covered picnic table next to the washrooms in the blue building, corner of Humphries Ave & Rosewood St.

INFORMATION: There are three routes. Washrooms are available at the Start/Finish & along routes:

 

  1. Byrne Creek Ravine 5k & 10k (rating 2B/2C): This walk explores the southern slope of East Burnaby. After a quick tour of the Middlegate neighborhood and walking by the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, we head to Byrne Creek Ravine Park where we descend the stairs on the west side to walk along Byrne Creek before returning up the east side to the BC Parkway and Stride Avenue Ravine Park.
  2. George Derby Conservation Area 6k & 10k (rating 3B): The Cariboo Hill neighbourhood is the ultimate destination of this walk. Passing through Robert Burnaby Park we then explore the trails of the George Derby (Cariboo) Conservation Area and on to Cariboo Park before walking through more of the park trails on our return to Edmonds.
  3. Robert Burnaby Park – Buckingham Heights 5k & 10k (rating 2B/3B): We begin by heading to Robert Burnaby Park where we follow the ravine of Ramsay Creek through the park before following a route parallel to the Trans-Canada Highway to the eastern shore of Deer Lake. We return through the Buckingham Heights Neighborhood and Malvern Park.
