In general, a 5km walk can be finished in 1 hour and a 10km walk can be completed in 2 hours.

    Western Loop goes to Point Grey; Eastern Loop goes to Vanier Park (rating 2B). Routes go along Kitsilano Beach & residential streets, then to Vanier Park & back. The 6k will not go to Vanier Park.

    Walk 5k or 10k routes.

    Description: 6K/10k (rating 2B/3B): Explore the northern part of Pacific Spirit Regional Park from NW Marine Dr to University Boulevard, parts of which are not covered in our other walks. Get your answer to "why all the fallen trees?" Enjoy the panoramic views along the Spanish Banks beaches.

    This walk goes through the very old community of Beach Grove in Tsawwassen, South Delta. Beach Grove originated as a cottage community before the George Massey tunnel was built. In the 1930’s and 1940’s, it was considered a remote location – you had to take a ferry to get there! We will pass by some of the original cottages, as well as walk a scenic dyke, some mud flats and briefly visit Boundary Bay Regional Park.    The community has grown a lot since the “olden days” but provides a unique charm with lots of shady pathways on those hot summer days! We will also see the award-winning “Flandez House” (complete with rooftop piano) – an unexpected and stunning piece of modern architecture amid our “rambling” route!

    Steveston Rocks (WALKS)!!! This walk really has everything and is worth the effort to get to Steveston. A must see. Come Walk With Us and see this interesting little village, see some fantastic museums that you will want to explore further when you have the time and walk part of the 35 km of dykes that are in Richmond. This is one of 11 walks in our “Explore Richmond” series.

    Meet in the parking lot across the street from the community centre.
