This part of the dyke pathway is amazing, looking over to the airport, watching planes leave and arrive, very often getting to see row boats, dragon boats or sculls in the Fraser River, walking past the Richmond Oval, and the UBC Boathouse which is a fully floating facility. We will go around Trout Lake, passing through residential areas, Beaconsfield Park and into Renfrew Park before entering Renfrew Ravine Park, onwards to Slocan Park and returning to John Hendry Park. 7 Vancouver - Kitsilano/West Point Grey - Locarno Beach 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Sunday, December 7, 2025 Route is in West Point Grey. You will see older homes with varied architecture, including 1940s to 1950s housing in a neighbourhood called “Little Australia”. Then into another area with beautiful mansions; some of the most expensive homes in Vancouver are located here. Return along Spanish Banks, Locarno Beach and Jericho Beach. Indigo 2505 Granville Street Vancouver, BC V6H 3G7 Canada View Location Map	10	11 Delta - Ladner - Pioneers and Essential Workers Walk - Exchange STVC-VVVC 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Thursday, December 11, 2025 Come to Ladner and experience the residential, historical, and community infrastructures of this small community. You will pass by a hospital, community centre, firehall and last but not least, an active Augustinian monastery. Historic structures include the Harris Barn and Kirkland House. Notably, the Forest of the Future Garden was funded by a pair of Volkssporting pioneers. This is one of the most diverse walks offered in South Delta. The 6k route is the Pioneer Walk and the 5k route is the Essential Workers Walk. REGISTRATION: No walk box is available. To register online: click here to download the Registration Form. Here we turn off the Seawall into the trails. View the Japanese Canadian War Monument, the Miniature Railway, the Pavilion Gardens and the Rose Garden before enjoying more natural surroundings of trails leading to Beaver Lake and on to Second Beach. 14 Vancouver - Downtown - Christmas Lights Walk 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Sunday, December 14, 2025 A special evening Christmas Lights walk through Downtown Vancouver. Walk starts with a visit to the LIGHTS OF HOPE at St. Paul’s Hospital. Onwards to Robson Square and down Burrard St to Canada Place. Follow the signs to “CHRISTMAS AT CANADA PLACE” for the Woodward’s windows and Sails of Light. Then up the living green roof to see the CHRISTMAS MARKET at Jack Poole Plaza. Walk along the Seaside Greenway (Seawall), to the beautiful marina in Coal Harbour, passing Westin Bayshore Hotel. Return via Beach Avenue with options to have dinner in the English Bay area. There is no fee for this walk. There are several places where you can make donations. Wear reflective and/or bright clothing and bring a flashlight (so you can read the route instructions). " JJ Bean Coffee Roasters 1188 Alberni St, Vancouver, BC V6E 1A5 Canada View Location Map	15	16 West Vancouver - Ambleside - Architecture & Historical Walk 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 16, 2025 This is a wonderful easy, sometimes breezy, walk along the lower road of Dundarave, West Bay and Altamont neighborhoods. You will encounter beautiful scenery, huge cedars, lovely lavish gardens, quaint tucked-away beaches and architecturally-renowned mansions. Along the route, fascinating “Fun Facts for Free” are noted. (If interested in knowing a little bit more, a separate page will be offered by the host). There are some stairs, some small steps and just the right number of hills to make it interesting. Enjoy the decorated Christmas trees in Dundarave Beach Park. John Lawson Park 17th St West Vancouver, BC BC V7V 3T3 Map	17	18 Vancouver - Downtown - Lost Lagoon/Blue Heron Colony 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Thursday, December 18, 2025 We will walk along the Coal Harbour waterfront from the Convention Centre into Stanley Park where you will be welcomed by Lord Stanley. Walk through the Rose Garden. Then to the north side of Lost Lagoon. Check out the Rhododendron Garden and the Blue Heron Colony, one of the largest urban colony in North America. Pass English Bay and the Inukshuk. Finish with a heritage walk in the West End. We pass the very historic home of one of the original Steveston pioneers and then head back to the West Dyke. The variety of birds that you will get to see while walking on the dykes is amazing. This walk ends by walking back through the village and along the boardwalk by the marina. This is one of 11 walks in our “Explore Richmond” series. Garry Point Park and out and back on a beautiful section of the dyke system that protects Richmond. There are 5km & 10km options for this walk. 21 North Vancouver - Lonsdale Quay - Spirit Trail East - Lynn Creek 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Sunday, December 21, 2025 Spirit Trail East – Lynn Creek: Walk the Spirit Trail east of Lonsdale Quay that will take you to Moodyville Park and Park & Tilford Gardens, onwards to a trail along Lynn Creek to Bridgman Park, then to Sunrise Park. Besides admiring the nature around you, take in the spectacular view of Vancouver city across Burrard Inlet as you pass Lonsdale Quay and the Shipyards. Check out the history of the “Benjamin Sewall” as you pass by the grain elevators. Distance: 5/10k Trail Rating: 2B If taking the Seabus, the Waterfront Park Dock with the gazebo is located 2 blocks west. of the Lonsdale Quay Seabus. This walk takes you to Granville Island & along the Seaside Greenway to Olympic Village, Science World to Coopers’ Park, cross Cambie Bridge & return to Granville Island. Check out what Granville Island has to offer as you walk around the Island. The 6K walk will only go to Charleson Park & Granville Island.
