This walk includes 4 Tsawwassen Neighborhoods, First Nations land, and the largest blue heron rookery in B.C. The neighborhoods include: Seaside (built 2020), Tsawwassen Springs (built 2010 to 2020), Imperial Village (1990’s), Candlewyck (1970’S/80’s). The Tsatsu rookery is particularly active between February and May each year. This walk also features a small walkway adjacent to an organic farm and some bee hives. Check out the crops on offer this year (usually potatoes or cabbages) but beware of manure smells in May – it is “organic” after all!

Enjoy walking the Arbutus Greenway, Marpole neighbourhoods and along the extensive boardwalk beside the Fraser River, where salt and freshwater meet as the Fraser meets the Pacific Ocean. Beautiful views of the Fraser River from the boardwalks that cross restored tidal marshes and snake between stands of poplar and alder trees. Barges, boats and log booms on the river and the Vancouver Airport runways are just beyond. This part of the walk is the highlight and not to be missed.
