Those doing the 11K will continue through beautiful, forested roads to Hope Bay and return through more quiet roads. PT# 294 - $2.00 - CASH ONLY - No coupons or walk cards. This charming 115 year-old fishing village has it all - dykes, marinas, parks, sloughs & a very quaint, walkable, town centre. Beautiful views of the Fraser River from the boardwalks that cross restored tidal marshes and snake between stands of poplar and alder trees. Kensington Community Centre 5175 Dumfries Street Vancouver, BC Map	15	16 Delta - Tsawwassen - Heron Rookery 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Thursday, April 16, 2026 This walk includes 4 Tsawwassen Neighborhoods, First Nations land, and the largest blue heron rookery in B.C. The neighborhoods include: Seaside (built 2020), Tsawwassen Springs (built 2010 to 2020), Imperial Village (1990’s), Candlewyck (1970’S/80’s). The Tsatsu rookery is particularly active between February and May each year. This walk also features a small walkway adjacent to an organic farm and some bee hives. Check out the crops on offer this year (usually potatoes or cabbages) but beware of manure smells in May – it is “organic” after all! Note: There are two 5K routes. (i) Starts at the South Delta Recreation Centre - does not go to the rookery (ii) Register at the South Delta Recreation Centre, then drive to Pat Quinn's. 19 Richmond - Terra Nova - Rural Park 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Sunday, April 19, 2026 Come Walk With Us in this peaceful northwest corner of Richmond. Starting from the Thompson Community Center we walk through residential neighbourhoods and trails passing through lush green marshlands. Upon reaching the dyke, we view the Strait of Georgia, the North Shore mountains and distant Gulf Islands peaks. Immerse yourself amongst the trees and the sound of water, in particular the roaring creeks on rainy days! Return via Spirit Trail along the scenic waterfront with spectacular views of the water and city across the Burrard Inlet and beautiful float houses. The neighborhoods include: Seaside (built 2020), Tsawwassen Springs (built 2010 to 2020), Imperial Village (1990’s), Candlewyck (1970’S/80’s). The Tsatsu rookery is particularly active between February and May each year. This walk also features a small walkway adjacent to an organic farm and some bee hives. Check out the crops on offer this year (usually potatoes or cabbages) but beware of manure smells in May – it is “organic” after all! Note: There are two 5K routes.
