This leisurely walk, in the northeastern section of the City of Burnaby, follows a series of gravel paths and urban trails. The area has an interesting mixture of suburban park and the original forested habitat.

Start Point: Parking Lot, 1541 Greystone Dr, Burnaby, BC V5A 1T4

Directions: Parking Lot is accessed via roadway into Burnaby Mountain Golf Course. It is the first road on the left, before the golf course parking lot. Hours: Dawn to dusk.

Distance: 5k/10k

Vancouver - Downtown - Chinatown

The 10K route goes through Downtown Vancouver, Canada Place, Gastown and Chinatown with an opportunity to walk inside the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park. It also includes a heritage walk through the oldest residential neighbourhood in the City of Vancouver and discover historic buildings and sidewalk mosaics. Heading towards Waterfront Rd., we will get a view of the busy Port of Vancouver and pass the SeaBus Terminal and Vancouver Convention Centre. Return to Downtown along the Seawall..

Distance:  10k.

North Vancouver - Lonsdale Quay - Edgemont Village

Walk along the Spirit Trail, then through Mosquito Creek Park to Edgemont Village, a quaint little area with one-of-a-kind retail stores and a vibrant community. You might feel like you are in a mountain resort as Grouse Mountain is not far away. Then down to a 1950’s cabin and pond where a number of shows, including the Virgin River series, were filmed. Next comes Murdo Frazer Pitch & Putt, Heywood Park, Pemberton Heights and back to Mosquito Creek Park. Don’t miss this walk! Lots to explore.

If taking the Seabus, the Waterfront Park Dock with the gazebo is located 2 blocks west. of the Lonsdale Quay Seabus. If driving, the gazebo/dock/pier is at the back of Waterfront Park in the 200 block of West Esplanade.

Vancouver - Stanley Park - Seawall (West)

Enjoy great views of Vancouver harbour and downtown, the North Shore mountains and English Bay. Walking the seawall clockwise we are rewarded with views of Brockton Point Lighthouse, the Lady in a Wetsuit statue, Lions Gate Bridge, Siwash Rock, ships at anchor in the harbour, the Sylvia Hotel and the NEW Laughing Men statues.

There are two 5K route options: (i) walk mostly on the east side of the Seawall and back via the Rose Garden (ii) walk on trails to Beaver Lake, the Aquarium and back via the Seawall.

Start Location: Meet in the sitting area of Devonian Harbour Park, 1929 W Georgia St  (NW corner of Denman & W Georgia St - behind the bus stop). 

Distance: 5/10/11k

Description: Walk along the picturesque South Arm Dyke of the Fraser River. Explore the historical site “London Farm” that tells the story of farming in Steveston from 1880 to 1930. Be surprised by the water traffic on the river. We walk beside the river for most of this walk. This is a fantastic walk that will have you saying “I did not know that was there”. This is the latest addition to our “Explore Richmond” series - one of 11 walks.

This route goes through the beautiful mansions along Hudson St. and various streets in Shaughnessy. Then onwards to Cambie St and Queen Elizabeth Park with its gardens, public art and panoramic view of Vancouver.

Central Park is notable for its immense Douglas fir, Western hemlock, cedar, poplar and maple groves. We'll enjoy a walk along the BC Parkway Urban Trail (beside the SkyTrain) and through Central Park before returning via residential streets. Washrooms available at Start/Finish & in the Park.

Richmond - Central Richmond - Minoru Park/Middle Arm Dyke

Come Walk With Us and explore Minoru Park (very nice park) and some quiet residential neighbourhoods on our way to the Middle Arm Dyke system that protects the city of Richmond. This part of the dyke pathway is amazing, looking over to the airport, watching planes leave and arrive, very often getting to see row boats, dragon boats or sculls in the Fraser River, walking past the Richmond Oval, and the UBC Boathouse which is a fully floating facility. Lots to see on this walk. This is one of 11 walks in our “Explore Richmond” series.

Description: 5, 10k (Rating 2B) This walk goes along the southern part of the Arbutus Greenway, from 41st Ave to SW Marine Drive, passing by community gardens, and through interesting residential areas. Catch views of planes approaching or taking off from Vancouver Airport.

Delta - Tsawwassen - Heron Rookery Exchange Walk - VVWC with all BC Clubs

This walk explores nature on either side of Highway 17, known to most as the major transportation route that takes thousands of people and products to and from Vancouver Island  each day. But there is so much more to this area than just a highway! As you proceed,  appreciate the heron rookery (2nd largest in BC), totem carvings (you are on First Nations Land)  and stroll a scenic dyke featuring some of the cutest “critters” around! Three cheers for the  “yellow-bellied marmot!”  Please note that the 6k option does not extend to the  Breakwater Path.

We begin by heading to Robert Burnaby Park where we follow the ravine of Ramsay Creek through the park before following a route parallel to the Trans-Canada Highway to the eastern shore of Deer Lake. We return through the Buckingham Heights Neighborhood and Malvern Park.

Start Point: Edmonds Park near the corner of Humphries Ave & Rosewood St. Burnaby, BC V5E 4N4 . Meet at the covered picnic table next to the washrooms in the blue building, corner of Humphries Ave & Rosewood St.

Come Walk With Us in this peaceful northwest corner of Richmond. Starting from the Thompson Community Center we walk through residential neighbourhoods and trails passing through lush green marshlands. Upon reaching the dyke, we view the Strait of Georgia, the North Shore mountains and distant Gulf Islands peaks. Keep a lookout for the many herons, eagles and sometimes snow geese that frequent this area.

Enjoy the quarry garden, arboretum & public art. Return via Nat Bailey Stadium, Riley Park and passing Mountain View Cemetery. The 5k walk will not go to Queen Elizabeth Park.

Distance: 10k
