5 Vancouver - Champlain Heights/Fraser River 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2024 The route goes through Everett Crowley Park, along the Fraser River & beside Fraserview Golf Course. It will be nice walking on forest trails and boardwalks, past duck ponds and great views over to Richmond, out on a pier over the Fraser River. Then, walk past Fraserview Golf Course on the way back. Distances: 6K/10K Trail Rating: 2B *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time. All walkers must register no later than 5 minutes prior to start time. *** Immediately following the walk, you may wish to join some of your fellow walkers for lunch at a nearby eatery. 11 Vancouver - Downtown - Victory Square - Yaletown - Remembrance Day 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday, November 11, 2024 This walk will go along the Seaside Greenway pass Coal Harbour to Canada Place, Gastown and then to Victory Square. Continue to BC Place Stadium, Seaside Greenway, the Roundhouse and back via Yaletown. Don’t miss this walk. It will take you to some parts of downtown not covered in the other walks. The 6k will only go to Victory Square and then return to the start point. Distance: 6k/10k Trail Rating: 2B *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time. 24 New Westminster - Queensborough 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Sunday, November 24, 2024 Queensborough is at the eastern tip of Lulu Island. We will walk through this riverfront community on boardwalks and trails/pathways along the dyke. Scenic views throughout the walk along the waterfront by the Fraser River and Annacis Channel. Distances: 5K/10K Trail Rating: 1B *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time. 30 Richmond - Terra Nova - Rural Park 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Saturday, November 30, 2024 Come Walk With Us in this peaceful northwest corner of Richmond. Starting from the Thompson Community Center we walk through residential neighbourhoods and trails passing through lush green marshlands. Upon reaching the dyke, we view the Strait of Georgia, the North Shore mountains and distant Gulf Islands peaks. Keep a lookout for the many herons, eagles and sometimes snow geese that frequent this area. Distance: 5/10k Trail Rating: 1B *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time.
