PROGRAM: Boardwalks & Bridges

DIRECTIONS: By car: From Hwy 1 westbound, take Exit 18.  Left on Lonsdale Ave.  Right on West Esplanade. Left on Chesterfield Ave. Left on Carrie Cates Ct. Right into ICBC parkade – unmarked (free parking on weekends & holidays). To walk from parkade:  Right on Rogers Ave.  Right on Carrie Cates Ct. Left on Chesterfield Pl (no sign).  Left before fence, passing between 4 short black posts. By transit: From Waterfront Station, take SeaBus. Walk 2 blocks west, keeping harbour on left. Head towards the big gazebo by the pier.

INFORMATION: There are three routes:

  1. Spirit Trail East – Lynn Creek 5k & 10k: Walk the Spirit Trail east of Lonsdale Quay that will take you to Moodyville Park and Park & Tilford Gardens, onwards to a trail along Lynn Creek to Bridgman Park. We then retrace our steps to go back. Check out the history of the “Benjamin Sewall”
  2. Spirit Trail West – McKay Creek 6k &10k: Walk the Spirit Trail west of Lonsdale Quay along the scenic waterfront with beautiful house boats and spectacular views of the water and city across the Burrard Inlet. Then, head north through several parks following McKay Creek and then to part of Mosquito Creek. Enjoy this walk with a mix of boardwalks, nature and urban trails.
  3. Mosquito Creek 6k, 10k & 11k: Route mainly follows the Spirit Trail, Mosquito Creek & The Great Trail through forested area uphill from Lonsdale Quay waterfront to Montroyal underpass & back. The 6k route will go until Hwy #1 underpass.
