You will encounter beautiful scenery, huge cedars, lovely lavish gardens, quaint tucked-away beaches and architecturally-renowned mansions. Along the route, fascinating “Fun Facts for Free” are noted. (If interested in knowing a little bit more, a separate page will be offered by the host). There are some stairs, some small steps and just the right number of hills to make it interesting.
  2. Capilano River 10/13k (rating: 2B) – This walk goes through “villages” of Ambleside and Park Royal with interesting shops and eateries. Then walk north along the edge of the Capilano River, a salmon-spawning river, in West Vancouver crossing over to North Vancouver and continue along the river all the way up close to Upper Levels (Highway 1). Return to West Vancouver via an overpass close to the mouth of the river with panoramic views of English Bay and Vancouver. Enjoy more views along Ambleside Park/Beach all the way to Centennial Seawalk. There is an option to cross Lions Gate Bridge. This will add another 3k to the walk.
  3. Dundarave 5k/10k (rating: 2B) – The Western loop goes through “village” of Dundarave, Memorial Park, Dundarave Park and along Centennial Seawalk. The Eastern loop goes through “villages” of Ambleside, Park Royal and along the edge of Ambleside Park. Both loops have interesting shops and eateries, and offer great views of English Bay and Vancouver.
  4. Lions Gate Bridge – Prospect Point 10k (rating: 2A) – This is an extension of the Eastern loop which goes through “villages” of Ambleside and Park Royal. Then cross Lions Gate Bridge to Prospect Point in Stanley Park. Return via the beach in Ambleside Park. The route offers panoramic views of Burrard Inlet and Vancouver.
