Following the Fraser River, the Eastern half of the walk takes us to an ecological reserve; the western half follows the Fraser River west on groomed trails and returns through Glenlyon Business Park. *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time. Parking available in park or along road. Tuesday, May 14, 2024(1 event) Delta - Ladner - Parks Walk –
6k, 10k options available. We will take a perimeter route that borders the scenic Fraser River Estuary. As you exit the park, proceed along Ferry Rd to the South Arm Marshes where a little bit of unexpected magic awaits you. This route also passes through Ernie Burnett Park & a rare gem of nature known only to locals so it has yet to be named. Truly, a “magical” walk! *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time. Thursday, May 16, 2024(1 event) North Vancouver - Lonsdale Quay - Edgemont Village –
Walk along the Spirit Trail, then through Mosquito Creek Park to Edgemont Village, a quaint little area with one-of-a-kind retail stores and a vibrant community. You might feel like you are in a mountain resort as Grouse Mountain is not far away. Then down to a 1950’s cabin and pond where a number of shows, including the Virgin River series, were filmed. Next comes Murdo Frazer Pitch & Putt, Heywood Park, Pemberton Heights and back to Mosquito Creek Park. Don’t miss this walk! Lots to explore. Distance: 6/10k Trail Rating: 2B If taking the Seabus, the Waterfront Park Dock with the gazebo is located 2 blocks west. of the Lonsdale Quay Seabus. If driving, the gazebo/dock/pier is at the back of Waterfront Park in the 200 block of West Esplanade. *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time. Central Park is notable for its immense Douglas fir, Western hemlock, cedar, poplar and maple groves. We'll enjoy a walk along the BC Parkway Urban Trail (beside the SkyTrain) and through Central Park before returning via residential streets. Washrooms available at Start/Finish & in the Park. *** Registration starts 30 minutes prior to start time.
